Greetings from San Diego!

Hello, my youngest daughter and I arrived late last night after a 6 hour flight.  Thankfully, we flew with Jet Blue.  So, I passed the time by watching 3 "Property Brothers" shows on HGTV-- I love that show!  Abby spent her time watching Nick Jr:)

Anyway... here's some Summer projects that I did a while back.  Hope to enjoy the warm 60-70 degree weather in San Diego!  I'm not sure if we are off to Lego Land or the San Diego Zoo today?  So many choices!

Thanks, Maureen

Happy Holidays!!

Hello and happy holidays!  To get into the Christmas spirit, I made some 3 Dimensional Trees.  The CTMH Artiste cartridge was used to cut the small green tree below.  Based on that, I was able to make templates for 2 larger trees.  If your kids ever tell you that they'll never use Geometry when they are older, then tell it ain't so!!  Geometry came in handy as I tried to draw angles.

Thanks for looking and have a happy and safe holiday!  Maureen

Below is a set that Penny made during one of our workshops.

Hi again, back with another card.  This one was made using CTMH's Merry & Bright stamp set and CTMH's Pear & Partridge paper.  I love this paper pack!

By using a Memory Box 'Grand Madison Window' die, I made the card look like a window of a nice dining room.  To create the valance, I cut a small piece of CTMH's Designer Ribbon Red Collection.

Thanks for stopping by, Maureen:)

CTMH Supplies:
Inks:  Cranberry, Olive, Crystal Blue (for sky)

PI Christmas Caroler

Hi, the holidays are surely upon us! Below is a card that I made using My Favorite Things (MFT) Pure Innocense (PI) line. The stamp is called 'Christmas Caroler'.  I used Teresa Collins' Christmas Home paper line.

I love these stamps because they are so easy to paper piece.  For instance, I stamped the dress and boots, cut them and glued them on.  I found little sleigh bells at AC Moore today.  This just gives it a little extra.

Thanks for stopping by, Maureen

CTMH Stamp of the Month (SOTM) Blog Hop

Hi,
If you are following the CTMH Blog Hop, then you've just come from Kristine's blog: http://kponte.blogspot.ca.

Welcome to my blog-- Let's Give 'em Something to Scrap About!  I named it after Bonnie Raitt's song, "Let's Give 'Em Something to Talk About".  Except on this blog, we are talking and scrapping!!  All we need is chocolate and we are good to go:)

I decided to showcase the stamp set through Scrapbooking. Below is LO of my daughter.  My title is "Whatever the season, Whatever the reason, I am grateful for you!".  The inspiration came from Pinterest and the Fall/Winter CTMH catalog.

Growing up, I was taught to celebrate life everyday, not just on special occasions. However, it's during the holidays that we are often reminded of the love for our families.  So, whatever the season or reason, be grateful for what you have.

CTMH Supplies:  Paper:  Flirty; Flirty Dimensional Elements

October Afternoon-- "Good Cheer" Retro Christmas Cards

Hello,

Tomorrow nine Girl Scouts are coming over to make 50 cards for a local nursing home!!  My youngest daughter helped me all day.  We spend the day designing cards, cutting them and organizing everything.  (I shouldn't have waited until the last moment.)

Below are two of the cards we created.  These cards remind me of the 50-60's-- love that retro feel! I had some old October Afternoon paper "Good Cheer" and stamps.

Thanks for stopping by, Maureen:)

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all enjoyed a beautiful day with your family and loved ones.  We spent the day at my sister in-law's house.  The food and the company were great-- lots of laughs!  The cousins had a great time too.  I remember when I was young all the fun we had.  The fun lasted the whole day from setting the table to toasting with apple cider to eating the turkey & desserts.  Afterwards, we'd play games and then plan for the next big holiday, Christmas.

I've had such good childhood memories and I'm happy that my two daughters are building great memories as well.

Happy Thanksgiving, Maureen:)

Basic Grey "Life of the Party" meets CTMH Sketch Book

Happy Monday!  CTMH released their first volume of sketch book called "Make it from your Heart".  The sketch book is reasonably priced at $7.95.  I really liked the pennant sketch and used it on my daughter's layout.

The paper I chose was Basic Grey's "Life of the Party".  This line reminded me of years gone by when we had simple birthday parties with just cake, ice cream and a game of the tail on the donkey!  These days the parties are more elaborate with themes.  I have to admit that I often succumb to the pressure.  For Abby's 9th birthday, we took her and her friends to a Laser Zone party place.  The girls had an absolute blast!  They played Laser Tag and arcade games and ended the day with pizza and cake.

While doing this LO, I tried to incorporate some new techniques-- spray ink and washi tape.  If you notice there is a trend to randomly spray directly onto LO's.  Washi tape is cool design element.  I bought a bunch of it from Queens & Company.

All the shapes were cut using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

I'm about 1/3 done with documenting Abby's 9th birthday party.  So, there will be more to come!
Thanks for stopping by, Maureen:)

CTMH-- Clementine WOTG

Hi, it's another beautiful day here in Boston. After this post, I'm going to take my dog on a long walk:) We'll miss these days once the cold and snow move in.

I created a 2-page layout using CTMH's Clementine Workshop on the Go (WOTG) kit. I have to admit that this paper did not 'speak' to me at first. It seemed a bit country and hey I'm a city girl! But by pairing it with demin ribbon, it opened up so many options in my mind.

The paper worked well to document my daughter's evening with her friend.  They had such a blast hanging out!

Have a great day, Maureen

CTMH-- Pemberley Layouts: Jr. High School Graduation & Inspirational Teacher

Hello, we made it through Hurricane safe and sound.  Not too bad in the Boston area.  Looks like New Jersey and New York got the brunt of the storm.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Below is the last of my daughter's graduation layouts.  The first page shows Shaelin and her best friend with their favorite teacher.  Mr. Condon made such a positive difference in my daughter's life.  His 7th and 8th grade English classes inspired my daughter to read and actually enjoy it!  Before she only read when she was forced to.  Something happened in this class and she saw the value and enjoyment that reading can bring.  She then went on to read all the Harry Potter's books and many other book sets.

Her writing also greatly improved.  The poem she wrote (in first LO) was published in the newsletter.  I am so proud of my daughter's accomplishments and I am very thankful for the great teachers she had throughout the years.  And, special thanks to Mr. Condon.

Thanks, Maureen:)
P.S. First page was inspired by page 24 of the Spring/Summer 2012 Catalog.

CTMH-- Pemberley Workshop on The Go (WOTG); Part 1

Happy Monday!

Here in the Boston area, everything is shut down (school, work, transportation) as we bear down and feel the impact of Hurricane Sandy (a.k.a. Franken-storm).  Well, what is a girl to do when you can't venture outside??  Scrapbook of course!!

Below is a kit that I prepared back in March.  I knew I used the pages to document my daughter's graduation from Jr. High.  Once I had the pictures and was ready to place everything down (last night), it was sooo easy.  To future document my daughter's event, I stamped on images cut using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  CTMH also carries a line of cork Alphabet and Shapes.  Those can also be stamped on.

If you love this paper, it is still available in CTMH's current catalog.  Please see items listed at the bottom.

Thanks, Maureen:)
