Happy Memorial Day!
A few years back when things got tough at work, we had this saying-- 'Keep Calm and Carry On!'. One of my colleagues, Thankum, was from India. So when Thankum said it, it sounded so powerful and yet so cool at the same time. Through Thankum we learned that the saying originated from England during WWII. It was meant to motivate the English civilians to go about their daily routine while the war and bombing dragged on.
The 'Keep Calm and Carry On' mantra is so popular today. On pinterest, there are sayings like: 'Keep Calm and Eat Chocolate' to 'Keep Calm and Stamp On' to 'Keep Calm it's Summer!'
Well, here is my version of 'Keep Calm': Keep Calm and Fly! The card is for my daughter, who is graduating from middle school this year. Like me, my daughter loves these 'Keep Calm' sayings. She even gave me some 'Keep Calm and Carry On' band-aids!
Using the Princess Wings stamp set, I created a second card for my niece's birthday. Since my niece is constantly dressing up as a princess, I decided that a princess card was a must.
All the products used below are CTMH. The Paper line is Lucy. The inks: Cotton Candy, Blush, Creme Brulee, and Grey Wool. The stamps: Princess Wings, Lucy Kit Stamp, and Diverse Backgrounds. CTMH also offers an array of alphabet stamps. These can be used to make individual sayings-- like Keep Calm and Fly! (Go out there and take on the next challenge!)
Thanks, Maureen:)

CTMH-- Lucy LO with Princess Wings Stamp Set
Hi, guess I'm catching up here:) My scrapbook group loved the Lucy Line so much that they asked for more! To enhance the two page layout, I used CTMH's 'Princess Wings' Stamp set. This stamp set is absolutely adorable:). Shortly, you'll be seeing 2 cards using this set.
Back to LO, I created a hidden journalling spot. To bling it out, CTMH's 'Sparkle Florish', 'Bitty Buds Assortment' and 'Bitty Bling' did the trick. For metals, the Olive 'Mini-Melody Accent' set came in handy. Lastly, couldn't complete the layout without using CTMH's AP Cricut Cartridge for the flowers and butterflies.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Maureen

American Crafts (AC)-- Passport Layout
Hi, I know it's been a while:) I started a new job in early May and it's taken some time to ramp up. I was so missing my craft time!
Anyhow, on a quest to use up my expansive, ever-growing scrapbook paper collection, I chose AC's Passport line to capture my daughter's trip into Boston. If you are from the area, you know the "Red Line" quite well. It's the central line of Boston's MBTA.
My daughter was too young to venture into Boston herself, so I was the chaperon. The trip reminded me of the many times my friends and I would ride the Red Line. What I remember the most is singing on the train with my friends. Yes, SINGING!! No matter how crowded or what time of day, we would burst into song! One of our favorite songs was Stacey Lattisaw's "I Found Love on a Two Way Street"... and lost on a lonely highway!
Now each day, I ride the Red Line into work as an adult. I have yet to see a young group of girls burst into song. I'm still waiting... maybe my friends and I have to take a ride again:)

CTMH-- May SOTM
Hello, it's been a while since I posted. We were in St. Martin for a week in April. There's was so much to catch up on once back!
Below is a 'gatefold' card that I created using the CTMH May Stamp of the Month (SOTM). As you know, each month CTMH offers a stamp for only $5 if you purchase $50 in products. The 'Dotty' paper pack is also available for only $5.
The paper pack used is CTMH 'Dreamin line', which was featured in the Fall/Winter catalog.
I love all of CTMH's SOTM, but have to admit, I couldn't wait to use this one! Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. They remind me of summer and fun things. With that in mind, I used the stamp set and created a mother's day card. My mother proudly displays my cards on her mantle piece. I'm happy with how the card turned out. Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Maureen:)
