October SOTM-- Scandinavian Wishes-- Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring October's SOTM, which is called 'Scandinavian Wishes', a unique set of 12 stamps which can be used for both scrapbooking and card-making!

On to the hop...If you have come here from Adeline's Blog you are on the right path! Should you get lost along the way, please go to back to Kathleen's Blog.

This month we have close to 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM (and other great CTMH products) on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

For this hop, I choose to create a 1 page Layout (LO) to celebrate Christmas.  I had this picture of my siblings for quite sometime...just waiting for the perfect paper, stamps and embellishments.  Well, I'm glad that I waited because I am love with CTMH Frosted paper line and the October SOTM!!  The Frosted line's colors are subtle, but add some glitter and wow, it is gorgeous!

If you are like me and hate stamping and then cutting out the shape, then you will love this stamp set because the images are on the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  I simple cut out the ornament and heart on the Cricut and then stamped right on it-- very easy:)

Now, the real question for my siblings is:  When was this picture taken and where???  My guess is Remick's in Quincy Square, circa 1972??  Let's see what others in my family say, including my parents.  See, it's import to scrapbook right away:)

Well, I hope you are enjoying the hop so far.  Please feel free to leave a comment and follow my blog if you'd like to.  And, if you don't have a consultant and would like to purchase the October SOTM, then please contact me at mosmojo65@yahoo.com or visit my online store: Maureen's Store.

Please be sure to visit all of the consultant's blogs.  Up next is Shirley Ross' Blog and you will love what she has created!

CTMH Desk Calendar-- Class: November 10th-- My house

Hi, last week I finished all of the months for a Desk Calendar.  In a previous post, I had showcased the months:  January, August and October.  Now, here is a look at all 12 months!

For the stand, I used CTMH's 'Designed Décor Flip Stand Album' (Z1896) for $12.95.  The cost of the class including the stand is only $25.00!  This is such a bargain and makes a wonderful Christmas present for someone special.  A fellow crafter and I are both making 4 calendars each!  One is for me:)

If you are interested in attending, please sign up on the worksheet tab.  If that date does not work, then let me know.

Thanks, Maureen

The Cat's Pajama's-- Ship Happens

Hello,  beautiful weather here in Boston, but I just can't keep my mind off of a few people who are dear to me.  My brother in-law (bil) just lost his father to cancer.  I have a friend in the hospital awaiting surgery and another one recovering at home.

Making and sending cards at times like these are sometimes all you can do. For instance, it takes time to grieve a death of a family member and the person may not feel like talking for a bit.

I started out creating a card for my friends that are ill.  I like the cute penguins steering the tea-cup boat and the saying 'SHIP Happens'.  The sentiment inside reads-- 'you don't know how strong you are until you are in a little hot water'.  This little saying is so true!  The fighter in you comes out, ready to take this battle on!

I'm praying for my 2 friends and my sister and bil.  Later tonight I have to work on their card.
Thanks for stopping by, Maureen

September Card and Treat Class 9/29/13

Hi, it's hard to believe that the summer is nearly over and the kids are or will be heading back to school.  My daughters start school this week:(

Although I love summer, I also love Autumn in New England.  The colorful trees are stunning and Boston is full of college students.  With Autumn comes Halloween.  For our next crop on Sunday, 9/29/13, we'll be creating a bunch of goodies!

First, using the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge, well make a cute little box to house these CTMH fun treat tubes! I was inspired by page 85 of the new Fall/Winter catalog.  We'll also use the CTMH Artiste cartridge to cut out the frightfully fun tags from the 'Magic Potion' stamp set.   Next, we'll use the new CTMH Artbooking cartridge for the cat and grave stone.

(I keep saying 'we'll cut out', but I mean 'I'll cut them out for you'.  I can also show you how to make these on your own-- it's sooo simple!)

For the first card, I cut out the haunted house from CTMH Artbooking cartridge. To make it pop out, I backed it in Sunset Orange card-stock. The moon and tree are from CTMH's 'Eek and Shriek' stamp set.

For the second card, I cut out the scary cat from Artbooking and then stamped using the coordinated stamp set called 'Eek and Shriek'. Well, you can never have enough candy, so I added a treat cup and filled it with mini M&M's. This card won't last long!

Here's some instructions on how to cut the box:

Here is a whole look at the cards and goodies. Please note that we'll be making 2 of each cards (four in total) and one little box/tube holder with 2 treat tubes, plus a single a treat tube-- b/c you'll want to eat something!
To sign up, please go to my workshop tab and pay via paypal. Please don't forget to sign up for the 5.5 hour crop on 9/29/13. Since this project is pre-cut, you'll have loads of time to work on your own projects.

If the 9/29/13 date does not work, then email me at mosmojo65@yahoo.com. I can hold a private class with 2+ people.

Thanks and happy Labor Day! Maureen
