CTMH-- Rainy Day & Rain or Shine Cards

Hello, you know that saying... "April Showers bring May flowers".  When it rains in April that's what I tell myself...let it rain, because sunshine and flowers will come!

Yesterday, I shared a card using CTMH's 'Rainy Day' Stamp set.  I'm back today with another card from the same set.  This time, I stamped the rain boots and colored them lime green with pink and purple polka dots-- how festive!  I choose to stamp a flower coming out of the boot. The flower is also from the Rainy Day stamp set. 

To create the card, a MFT sketch design came in handy.  If you click here, you can print out all of their sketches, pin them, or refer to their blog. 

On one of the little yellow pieces of trim, I stamped the sentiment 'hope you are feeling better'.  The sentiment came from the 'Rain or Shine' stamp set (D1634).  The 'Rain or Shine' stamp debuted in the Seasonal Expressions volume 1 and is still available for purchase.

Here's the raincoat and umbrella card again.  So cute!

For the second card, I used the 'Rain or Shine' stamp set.  I just love the sentiment from the second card-- "You can't have a rainbow without a little rain".  

I think we all forget that with bad times comes good times!

Brushed April Cards-- Rainy Day & Cutie Pie

Hello, I spent Saturday and Sunday visiting colleges in Vermont with my daughter.  We met up with my niece and checked out the University of Vermont in Burlington and Saint Michael's College.  Both schools were nice.  I have today off and I've earned a day of crafting:)

The first card is for a friend who recently had knee surgery. Times are tough now, but "keep looking up" because good times are ahead!  The stamp set, Rainy Day, is from the current catalog and is only $13.95.  To color the images in, I used CTMH's ShinHan makers.  For the design, I used a modified My Favorite Things (MFT) Sketch.

The second card was created using the December SOTM.  I designed this card as a Make/Take for a recent crop.  I still have extra sets of this stamp available for sale.  So please let me know if you'd like to purchase it at a discounted price.

I used the CTMH's Marvy journaling pen to doodle on the sentiment.

CTMH Seasonal Expressions 2-- Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the CTMH's Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop!  If you've come here from Shalana's Blog, then you are on the right path.  Should you get lost along the way, please click HERE for a list of all the blog hopper's names.

The Seasonal Expressions catalog comes with 2 new paper lines:  Bloosom and Jackson.  Bloosom is full of spring colors and chose to use paper pack to document a trip to Newport Rhode Island. 

To cut the sun, I used CTMH's Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I made an overlay and then hand cut off the ends. 

For the ink, I randomly sprayed on some light blue ink to give it a look of sky behind the sun.

The little white buildings are actually bathrooms!  They remind of little white cottages in Wellfleet on Cape Cod.

The park also had a lighthouse.  Being a lover of lighthouses, I got lots of pictures.  You'll see them in other LOs:)

Scrapbook Bloopers & Other Mishaps-- Jackson CTMH paper line

Hello, I'm here to share a recent scrapbook blooper and mishap.  What is this you may ask??  Well its scrapping an event and things just get mixed up, a bit.

I recently attended a scrapbook retreat.  When I get home my daughters always look through my completed pages.  I was very proud of the 2-page LO below because it documented my youngest daughter's week long stay at Camp Favorite on the Cape.  Plus, I used CTMH's recently debuted paper line-- Jackson.

Last fall, I went through these pics, along with other camp pics, with my daughter.  I learned that Camp Favorite was not her favorite.  Her favorite GS camp was Camp Wind in the Pines.  We separated the camp pics-- or so I thought!

Below is a LO showing a daily tradition of lowering the flag and folding it.  I remember Abby telling me that she liked the raising and lowering of the flag activities.   Nice LO-- I like it.  Pic showing the flag in evening sky.  The pics of flag coming down and girls folding it.  I also added some journaling, arrows and washi.  Perfect.

Well, apparently the flag is being risen!!  I'm like Abby are you sure??  It's pretty dark.  She's like 'yes it was rainy that morning'.  I'm like what about the girl with the wet hair?  It looks like she was just swimming?  Abby said no, that is so and so and she took a shower in the morning.

 Looks pretty dark to me!  Sure it's morning???  Yes, it's morning mom.

Girl Scouts taking down or putting up flag??   Mom, they are putting up the flag!!

Okay, we have options here: 

1.  I can leave the history as written, after all, this happens all the time-- right!?

2.  I can use un-do and re-arrange pics. 

3.  Or, I can put a note in there saying-- sorry, mom messed up, follow arrows backwards. 

I'll go with #3!!! 





Okay, it doesn't stop there.  I had so many pictures that I used CTMH's 'Picture My Life' cards (Project Life).  Continuing on with Camp Favorite (not her favorite camp), I did this page:

I just love these little journal cards!  The cards are the same colors as the paper pack, but have different designs.

Okay:  problem with this page-- the sky scenes are from Wind in the Pines, not Camp Favorite!!

Fix:  rename this page-- Misc Camp Pics from 2013.  That will work:)

I'm happy to report that I got this one right!  I guess 1 out of 4 isn't so bad! 

Yay me!













The point of sharing these bloopers with you is that they can be easily fixed.  And they demonstrate that we are not perfect.  I tried to do everything right-- I sat with my daughter and separated the pictures, but I messed up. 

Even if keep the LO as is and put a cute note in there telling my daughter of the mistake, she will laugh and smile because she knows me--  she knows I tried to capture these memories for her (however foggy my mind is at times!).

TC Urban Market Layout

Hello, back again with another layout.  This time I used Teresa Collins' Urban Market line.  Teresa Collins is one of my favorite designers. 

My youngest graduated from elementary school.  Our town's colors are blue, so Urban Market goes well. 

The first page captures all the students on the stage.  I also included a picture of Abby reading a poem about her school.

OA Daily Flash-- My first intentional selfie:)

Hello, I went to a weekend crop last week and got a bunch of LOs done!

Here's one 2-page showcasing October Afternoon's (OA's) Daily Flash line.  I was attracted to this line because it had a lot of cameras, flashes, word bubbles, etc.  It is chaotic and busy and reminds me of the technical life we now live in-- cell phones, facebook, vine, selfies, etc. 

But.... I have a confession to make:  My first intentional selfie occurred this past summer in Newport RI!!!  OMG!  I say intentional because I've taken loads of pictures with my iPhone.  And, sometimes the lens is pointing at my face by accident and not the subject.  I'm sure that has happened to you.  You know-- you are taking this awesome picture and you go to look at the iPhone screen and see this person that you don't know looking at you!  Then, you realize it's you!  And your like-- I don't look that bad??  Do I????  Finally you accept it.  Okay its me-- I'll save these pictures for the "before pictures" of the diet I have yet to start:)  I'll look better, someday!

So enough of what's in my head,  it was time to be prepared for the actual, real selfie-- pose, pucker up and take a lot of pictures. 

Here's what came out...For one of selfies I'm a bit serious.  The second one is more like me with the laugh!

After I stopped with the selfies, my daughter took a picture of my kissing a lion statue.

Above is the complete two page LO.  I had fun working with this bright and fun paper line!  Of all the pages I did on my scrapbook weekend my daughters liked this one best.  They remember this day; the day when their mom took her first intentional selfie:) 

What is next for me??  If you say texting-- I've done that.  However, I'm not a master of texting.  Check out one of the pictures of the pictures in my LO.  I wanted to say "I'm on the highway".  What came out was "wet on hey"!!

Brushed 6X6 Canvas

Hi everyone, its snowing here again in Boston.  We already beat our snow record, so enough with the snow, we are ready for spring!

And what a better way to bring on the spring than to show you a 6X6 canvas that Jean MacLeod recently created using the CTMH Brushed line.  Jean will be teaching this canvas at our 12 crop on April 11th and it is absolutely stunning!  I want to make one too:) 

I met Jean ~7 years ago at a local scrapbooking store where she was an instuctor.  Jean has many styles-- mixed media, card-making, scrapbooking, and metals, etc.  She loves a variety and is good at all of it! 

Well, Jean invited me to a CTMH party that she was hosting and you can guess where that ended!

Below is a picture of what Jean created with a 6X6 canvas and a few CTMH stamps, washi tape, black sequin, Brush paper, and other supplies-- such as gesso, medium and modeling paste. 

The butterfly and 'happy' sentiment are from the Brushed workshop on the go kit. 

Here's a close-up of the textured LOVE that we'll be creating.  There are many layers to this canvas, making it an adorable keepsake.

Spring Cards!

Hi, we are having our next crop on Saturday, March 14th.  I'm hoping March comes in and leaves like a lamb!  This winter has been tough one.

To help bring in the spring, I made a couple more cards using the Hopscotch paper pack. 

 The first card I made a couple of weeks ago 'Happy to Be Friends' using a stamp with that same name.

For the Bunny card, I used the 'Hoping By' stamp.  It was fun to color it in using CTMH's Shin-Han markers.

For the daffodil card, I used the 'A Little Note' stamp and the CTMH markers again.

Here is a close up of the Bunny and Daffodil cards.  I especially like the Bunny! The stamp set also has a little chicken and lamb-- perfect for my younger niece and nephews!








For the card class we'll also be making 1 card using the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.  I'll post it later in the week.

SOTM Blog Hop- March

Welcome to the March SOTM Blog Hop!  If you just came from Kathy's BLOG, then you are on the right path.  This month we have over 70 consultants participating in the hop.  Should you get lost along the way, please click here HERE. 

The March SOTM is called 'Choose Happy' and contains 14 pieces.  Its a whimsy set-- full of swirls and cute frames.

For my project, I choose to create a LO.  Once again I had some photo booth pictures.  Instead of just scrapping boring strips of pictures I thought 'hey those frames will work!'.  And, sure enough they did!

 

Here's a close up of the frames,  I used my Shin-Han markers and colored them in Lagoon, Sorbet and Flaxon like colors.

I also stamped a border and colored in with the same colors.

Using Artbooking Cricut cartridge, I cut out the camera and title.

The Chalk-It Up paper and embellishments worked wonderful too!
