Copics Club-- Some Odd Girl

Hello again:)

A fellow craft friend of mine, Toni Lopes, created the card below.  Toni blew us all away in the class-- she had the hair and face patterns down!  Toni makes a lot of cards for her grand-daughter.  As you can see, the practice has paid off!

Toni used Some Odd Girl's 'Sweet Thinkin' Mae'.

If you like Toni's card, please leave a comment and I'll pass it along.  Thanks, Maureen:)

CTMH-- July Stamp of the Month: LIVE OUT LOUD:)

Hi there!  As you know each month CTMH offers a Stamp of the Month (SOTM) at a discounted price of $5.00 when you place an order of $50.00 or more.  I've been waiting for July's stamp to come out. The name is 'Live Out Loud' and it's one of those stamps that can be used for both card-making and scrap-booking-- fun, fun, fun!

Below is a card I made for my teen-age daughter who is at camp for 4 weeks-- miss her:(  Also, I'm planning on using this stamp for a Layout that I'll be creating for my teenage daughter.  In addition to the 'Live out Loud' phrase, there are other ones such as 'Just Be', 'Soar', and 'Imagine the Possibilities'.  Lots of nice sayings.

The paper that I chose was from CTMH's Crusin' line, which will be discontinued after 7/31/12.  All the shapes, with the exception of the chevron, were cut using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  As a teaser, I put in some black striped gross-grain ribbon (z1781) that CTMH just started carrying.  This black ribbon will be available on August 1st for customers.

To create a background for my 'Just Be' sentiment, I stamped the ink sprayed look on using Grey Flannel ink.  The Diverse Background stamp (D1508) comes with 4 backgrounds.  I loved the ink droppings because I don't have to spray ink on and then wait for it to dry.  CTMH is very clever!

Lastly, I based my sketch on a Mojo Monday sketch #214.  Funny, who would have thought that my nickname 'mojo' would now be a site that I look to all the time for inspiration.  I've been mojo for since I was 15!

Thanks, Maureen:)

CTMH-- 6 Fold Card; Family Love & Florentine

Hello again!  I was asked to make a birthday card for a woman that is turning 100!  Of course this did not call for just any type of card.  After all, it's not everyday that someone celebrates 100 years!

While searching for the perfect card, I did find a video on how to make a 6 fold card.  The video was created by a CTMH consultant, Kathy.  Below is the link to her blog:

http://kathy-itsagirlthing.blogspot.com/2012/02/sweetheart-valentine-6-fold-card-and.html

After I found the type of card to make, I then had to figure out what say.  My husband actually thought of a good idea-- a celebration of 100 years with family and friends.  As always, CTMH had the perfect stamp set "Family Love" (D1506).  Next, I used the CTMH Florentine paper line and stickers; along with some coordinating metal embellishments.  Fortunately, the Florentine paper line will be carried in the new catalog.

All and all, I very pleased with how it turned out.  I think 100 years deserves an extra special card!  Happy Birthday Helen and many more!

Thanks, Maureen

CTMH-- Kick Back with Footloose Card

Hi, I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  So glad summer is here.  This past winter I purchased the CTMH 'Kick Back' stamp set (D1511).  The stamp set reminded me of the Caribbean-- just sitting there under an umbrella, enjoying life, and sipping on a cool drink.  Sounds good!

With that in mind, I created the card below.  Because all of the images are stamped, you can pick what color you want your chairs to be.  Which do you like better-- Lagoon (blue) or Smoothie (pink)?  I take the Smoothie one:)

The paper used was CTMH's Footloose.  If you like it, better order it as it will retire on 7/31/12.  The sketch was based on My Favorite Things (MFT) #79.

Cat's Pajamas-- Get Well Card

Hi again:)

So, I have the day off.  Guess what I did last night....? I made a card!

The card is for a close stamper/scrapbooking friend who has been 'under the weather'. To help cheer her up, I had to breakout this cute stamp set by Cat's Pajamas.   Don't let the title fool you, the 'You Sick Thing' stamp set is adorable! My daughter Abby and I are in love with those penquins.

All of the dies are from My Favorite Things.  The Copics colors used are located in the last picture.

Thanks for stopping by!  Maureen

Moo-chas Gracias Card by Joan

Hi, happy Monday!  I have the day off.  So, despite the high temps and humidity in Boston, I'm glad to be off:)

Below is a card by my first guest designer, Joan.  I met Joan at the Copics class in June.  Joan is extremely talented, as you can see.  She makes cards for our troups as well as her family.

Well, Joan sent me this card to thank me for mailing her a CTMH catalog.  Now that I make cards, I so appreciate when I recieve a hand-made card.  Moo-chas gracias Joan!  And, congrats for being my first guest designer on this wonderful, extremely popular blog!  (Only kidding:)

Thanks, Maureen

CTMH- Remarkable Wreath & Memory Box Window Die

Hi there,

A couple of months ago, I purchased a Memory Box 'Window' die from the Crop Shop**.  I saw so many cute ideas on Pinterest.  Most of the pins were of a window looking into a house.  Of course, I had to be a little different.  So, I created a view looking out, sort of from a dining room.

For the 'wall paper', I used CTMH's soon to be retired Sonoma line.  I kept the window decor simple by just attaching a wreath.  And, where did a find a wreath that can be inked up for all seasons???  CTMH's 'Remarkable Wreath' (C1473).  Using colors honey, chocolate, and amethyst and wrapping it with twine did the trick.

I got the sentiment - Family... together we have it all- from CTMH's 'Family Love' (D1506).

I'm pretty happy with how the card turned out.  It reminds me of my parent's dining room and my mother loves wreaths.  Since family is everything, this might make a good 50th Wedding Anniversary card for my folks.

Thanks for stopping by, Maureen:)

CTMH-- Stella LO using 'Fashionista' and 'Just For You' Stamp Sets

Happy Sunday:)

If you are a CTMH fan, then you've seen the cover of the current catalog many times. It features CTMH's Stella paper line and 'Just for You' stamp set. A couple of months ago, I recreated this cover to document the day my daughter's braces were taken off. This was a big deal since it was 4 years in the waiting!!

Well, I never did a second page. Once I received some pictures for her orthodontist, I knew I had the pictures that I was waiting for. The second page not only shows the transformation in her smile, but also the transformation from an adolescent to a young teen.  Wow, I don't know where those 4 years went!

CTMH also carries a number of Alphabet/Numeric sets.  These come in handy when you want to quickly ink something up to match a LO or card.  Here, I used the 'Trinity' Alphabet set (E1021) for the dates and title: transformation.

Other CTMH supplies used:  Stella Paper Pack X7147B; Stella Canvas Shapes X7147B; 'Just for you' Stamp Set B1398; 'Fashionista' Stamp Set D1504; Neutral Brown twine Z1701; Bohemian Assortment(Lace) Z1687; Chocolate Ink Pad Z2111; and Olive Mini Accents Z1489.

Remember, the buy 2 stamps sets, get 1 free runs through the end of June.

Thanks, Maureen:)
